Networks, Storage and Servers

Foundational services that support the operation and management of UofL's enterprise technology environments - including data center services, database management and server and storage management. Our network and connectivity management covers both wireless (Wi-Fi) and wired (Ethernet) services, virtual private network (VPN) and IP address support.

Network and Connectivity Management

The architecture, installation, and operation of infrastructure items required to offer network connectivity. Includes connectivity for devices to UofL's network offerings (wireless), network access management, securing access to network, and appropriate authentication (including VPN support).

Data Center Services

Strategy, planning, architecture, and operation of physical and virtual data centers, including on-premises, remote, and cloud-based data centers. Data migration, resource planning and consulting services as related to our university data centers.

Database Management

Data base management, hosting and administration of databases - both physical and virtual systems.

Monitoring and Alert Management

System status monitoring of IT services, including the underpinning technologies.

Server and Storage Management

Provisioning, hosting and administration of physical and virtual servers and related storage - including the maintenance and provisioning of core storage capabilities. Management of university data and file storage such as CardBox, with shared departmental and group options.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Business continuity consulting and planning, as well as disaster recovery planning, including disaster recovery exercises and execution.
