Microsoft Outlook is the university’s official email platform, accessible via web browser, desktop application and mobile devices. It offers robust features for managing email, calendars, contacts and tasks, and integrates with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

Boundaries and Constraints

  • Email accounts are provisioned upon enrollment or employment and deactivated upon separation.
  • External forwarding may be restricted based on university policy.
  • Mailbox size limits and retention policies apply.
  • Use of email must comply with university access and data security policies.

Eligibility

All active University of Louisville students, faculty and staff are eligible for Outlook email services. Access is granted automatically upon account creation.

How to Get 

  • First-Time Access:

    1. Visit https://outlook.office365.com
    2. Log in using your UofL credentials (e.g., ULink username and password)
    3. Verify using UL2FCTR (Duo) second-factor authentication if prompted
  • Download to Devices:

    • Desktop: Install Microsoft Outlook via Microsoft 365 or Office suite
    • Mobile: Download the Outlook app from the App Store or Google Play
    • Configuration: Use your university email and password; follow setup prompts
