Purpose
The purpose of Network Authentication Services is to provide secure, centralized access control for users and devices connecting to the University of Louisville’s network. As a core component of the university’s Identity Management Services, network authentication ensures that only authorized individuals and systems can access university resources, protecting sensitive data and maintaining compliance with institutional security policies.
Overview of Service
Network authentication is managed by Information Technology Services (ITS) and is integrated with the university’s identity management infrastructure. It supports secure access to wired and wireless networks, VPN connections, and enterprise applications through centralized credential verification and UL2FCTR (Duo) authentication.
