Accounts: How to Request a UofL Email for a Sponsored Account

Before You Begin:

  • This process is for requesting a UofL email account after a sponsored account has been requested and created. You can request a UofL email for a sponsored account when you request a sponsored account. For information on how to request a sponsored account, visit the knowledge base article: How to Request a Sponsored Account.
  • You must be the owner or manager of the service account or sponsored account to renew the account.
  • Log into the Identity Access Management portal with your personal University user ID and password, not the service account or sponsored account user ID or password.
  • Have the sponsored account's information ready (first name, last name, and University user ID [generated when the sponsored account was created)].
  • There is a cost for a UofL email for sponsored accounts.

Objective or Task

Request a UofL email for a sponsored account through the Identity Access Management portal.

Instructions

  1. Go to https://identity.louisville.edu.
  2. Enter your user ID and click NEXT.
  3. Enter your password and click NEXT.
  4. Click the USERS tab.
  5. Search for the sponsored account by user ID.
  6. Once the sponsored account's information appears, scroll down to UPDATE PERSONAL INFORMATION under Step 3.
  7. Under "Needs Email", select YES from the drop-down menu.
  8. Under Step 4, enter a Work Tag.
  9. Click SUBMIT REQUEST.
  10. Look for a confirmation message on the screen.
  11. Check your email for confirmation when the a UofL email is added to the sponsored account.

Outcome

The sponsored account you manage will have a UofL email.
