Accounts: How to Request a UofL Email for a Sponsored Account

Summary

Use the Identity Access Management portal to add a UofL email to a sponsored account that has already been requested and created. Only the owner/manager of the sponsored account can add email to the sponsored account. UofL email for a sponsored account comes with a cost, which is charged to your department.

Before You Begin:

  • This process is for requesting a UofL email account after a sponsored account has been requested and created. You can request a UofL email for a sponsored account when you request a sponsored account. For information on how to request a sponsored account, visit the knowledge base article: How to Request a Sponsored Account.
  • You must be the owner or manager of the service account or sponsored account to renew the account.
  • Have YOUR UofL login credentials handy.
  • Have the sponsored account's information ready (first name, last name, and University user ID [generated when the sponsored account was created)].
  • PLEASE NOTE:  There is a cost for a UofL email for sponsored accounts.

 

Instructions

  1. Go to Password and Account Management.
  2. Enter your user UofL login credentials (NOT the sponsored account user ID).
  3. Click SIGN IN.
  4. You will receive a DUO push.  Enter the number and verify on your device.
  5. Click the USER MANAGEMENT tab.
  6. Search for the sponsored account by first name, last name, or user ID (sponsored account user ID).
  7. Once the sponsored account's information appears, click the MANAGE PROFILE tab.
  8. Under "Needs Email", select YES from the drop-down menu.Under “Reason”, enter a Work Tag.
  9. Check your email for confirmation when the UofL email is added to the sponsored account.
  10. Look for a confirmation message on the screen.
  11. Click SUBMIT.
  12. Sign out
