AI & GenAI Tools: How to Access and Use GenAI Tools at UofL


Before You Begin:

  • You need an active UofL login credentials.
  • Some tools require specific permissions or paid licenses (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot).
  • Review university guidelines for ethical and secure use of AI and GenAI tools.
  • Prepare any data or files you plan to use with AI tools.

 

Instructions:

  1. Visit the Integrative Design & Development page
  2. Review Available AI & GenAI Tools
    • Explore tools such as Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot Chat, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, MetaAI, Adobe Firefly, and Imagen.
    • Check eligibility and access requirements for each tool.
  3. Access AI Tools
    • Use your UofL credentials to log in to supported platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud).
    • For research or specialized projects, contact the Integrative Design & Development (IDD) team for custom solutions or pilot studies.
  4. Follow Best Practices
    • Use AI tools thoughtfully and ethically.
    • Do not share personal or university-owned sensitive data with unauthorized AI tools.
    • Review UofL’s guidelines for GenAI use in teaching, learning, and research (GenAI Guidelines).
  5. Request Support for Custom AI Projects
    • Submit a concept paper or proposal to the IDD team for pilot projects or custom applications.
    • Email the IDD team with your project idea, needs, and timeline (IDD Contact).
