VPN Setup - Windows and Mac

Before You Begin

  • All University employees have a VPN account by default.
  • University students must request a VPN account via the Identity Access Management portal.
  • The University utilizes UL2FCTR/DUO for two-factor authentication. You will need to use this account in conjunction with your VPN account.

Objective or Task

Download, install and connect to the GlobalProtect VPN client on a Windows or Mac computer.

Instructions

  1. Go to https://vpn.louisville.edu in your web browser.
  2. Log in with your University credentials.
  3. Choose the appropriate client for your operating system (Windows or Mac) and download the installer.
  4. Run the installer and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
  5. When prompted by the client, enter vpn.louisville.edu as the Portal address.
  6. Log in with your University credentials and complete two-factor authentication if prompted.
  7. After a successful connection, look for a "services connected" notification in your system tray.

Outcome

You will be securely connected to the University network and able to access protected resources from your Windows or Mac computer.
