Outlook: How to Understand UofL Email Sending Limits

- Understand that these limits apply to all UofL email users.

Instructions:

Check the Recipient Limit
- You can include up to 500 recipients on a single email message.
- A public group counts as one recipient.

Check the Message Rate Limit
- You can send up to 30 email messages per minute from your account.

Check the Recipient Rate Limit
- You can send email messages to a maximum of 10,000 recipients per day.

Plan Large Mailings Carefully
- If you need to email more than these limits allow consider breaking up your mailing or using approved mass email tools.
Outcome:
After reviewing these limits you will be able to send emails without exceeding UofL’s restrictions, reducing the risk of delivery failures or account lockout.
