UofL applies email sending limits to protect against spam, viruses and mass emailing threats. Knowing these limits helps you avoid sending errors and ensures your messages reach their recipients.

Instructions:

1. Check the Recipient Limit

   • You can include up to 500 recipients on a single email message.
   • A public group counts as one recipient.

2. Check the Message Rate Limit

   • You can send up to 30 email messages per minute from your account.

3. Check the Recipient Rate Limit

   • You can send email messages to a maximum of 10,000 recipients per day.

4. Plan Large Mailings Carefully

   • If you need to email more than these limits allow consider breaking up your mailing or using approved mass email tools.
