Access Additional Resources

The University of Louisville offers support services to help researchers access NSF-funded computational resources at external institutions through the ACCESS (Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem: Services & Support) program. This service enables faculty, staff, and students to leverage the National CyberInfrastructure—including high-performance computing, data storage, and advanced research platforms—beyond the university’s local resources, accelerating discovery and fostering national and international collaboration.

Details

Support for the ACCESS program is managed by the Research Computing team in partnership with ITS. The team assists researchers in identifying suitable external resources, preparing proposals and allocation requests, and navigating the technical and administrative requirements for accessing national cyberinfrastructure.

Key Features

  • Consultation on eligibility and application for NSF ACCESS allocations
  • Guidance on selecting appropriate national cyberinfrastructure resources (e.g., supercomputers, data storage, specialized platforms)
  • Assistance with proposal preparation and submission for resource allocations
  • Technical support for onboarding, account setup, and data transfer
  • Coordination with external institutions and national resource providers
  • Training and documentation for using external HPC and data resources

Benefits

  • Access to powerful national and international research computing resources
  • Expanded computational and storage capacity beyond local infrastructure
  • Increased competitiveness for federally funded research projects
  • Enhanced collaboration with external partners and institutions
  • Expert support for navigating complex allocation and onboarding processes

Audience

  • Faculty and Researchers: Seeking access to NSF-funded or national cyberinfrastructure resources
  • Graduate and Undergraduate Students: Participating in research projects requiring external computational resources
  • Research Groups and Departments: Collaborating on multi-institutional or large-scale projects
