Set Up a Sponsored Guest Account for ULsponsor Access

Before You Begin

  • Visitors to the university can access campus Wi-FI using the ULsponsor network for extended, sponsored access. Guest accounts are required to use the ULsponsor network.
  • Only University faculty or administrative staff can sponsor guests.
  • Sponsors are responsible for their guest's Internet use and any reported misuse.
  • Guest accounts can be active for up to 365 days. Account duration can be extended via the MyDevice portal.

Objective or Task

Create a sponsored guest account for access to the ULsponsor wireless network for a visitor.

Instructions

  1. Visit the MyDevice Portal using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection or while on campus.
  2. Log in with your UofL userID and password.
  3. Follow the prompts to create a new guest account.
  4. Enter the required information for your guest.
  5. Submit the form. The system will auto-generate a username and password for your guest.
  6. Provide the guest with their username and password so they can connect to the ULsponsor wireless network.

Outcome

Your guest will receive a username and password to access the ULsponsor wireless network for the specified duration.
