Siteimprove: How to Monitor and Improve Digital Accessibility at UofL

Before You Begin

Ensure you have a valid UofL user account and access to your department’s website.
Request access to Siteimprove from web@louisville.edu, if you are a site owner or editor.
Review UofL web governance and accessibility policies.

Objective or Task

Learn how to use Siteimprove to monitor, report and remediate accessibility issues on UofL websites.

Instructions

Access Siteimprove

  • Log in to the Siteimprove dashboard with your UofL credentials.
  • Request access if you do not already have it.

Run Accessibility Checks

  • Use the dashboard to scan your website for accessibility issues.
  • Review automated reports for WCAG, ADA and Section 508 compliance.

Review and Remediate Issues

  • Prioritize issues flagged by Siteimprove, such as missing alt text, poor color contrast or broken links.
  • Use Siteimprove’s guidance and contextual learning tools to resolve issues.
  • Track progress and improvements over time.

Request Training and Support

  • Attend Siteimprove training sessions or access online tutorials for advanced features.
  • Contact ITS or Siteimprove support for technical help.

Outcome

After completing these steps, you will be able to monitor, report and remediate accessibility issues, helping UofL websites meet legal and university standards.
