Objective or Task

Complete a 30‑60‑90 Performance or Attendance Improvement Plan review in Workday.

Instructions

Prepare the 30‑60‑90 Review Document

  1. Request the appropriate 30‑60‑90 Performance Improvement Plan or Attendance Improvement Plan template from Employee Relations.

  2. Add your departmental letterhead to the template.

  3. Complete the template with required performance or attendance details.

  4. Submit the completed document to Employee Relations for review.

  5. Revise the document based on feedback and submit it for final approval.

  6. Meet with the employee to review the approved document.

  7. Obtain the employee’s signature on the document.

Start the 30‑60‑90 Review in Workday

  1. Sign in to Workday.

  2. Enter Performance Improvement in the search bar.

  3. Select Start Performance or Attendance Improvement Plan for Employee.

  4. Select the employee using the prompt icon or by entering their name.

  5. Select PIP 30‑60‑90 Day Review or Attendance Improvement Plan 30‑60‑90 Day Review.

  6. Enter the Period Start Date.

  7. Enter the Period End Date.

  8. Select Submit.

Complete the Manager Evaluation

  1. Open your Workday Inbox.

  2. Select Manager Evaluation from the Actions tab.

  3. Select Add to open the attachment section.

  4. Select Attach and upload the approved 30‑60‑90 review document.

  5. Select the check icon to save the attachment.

  6. Select edit in the 30‑60‑90 Review Completion Status section.

  7. Select a Rating to indicate the next step for the improvement plan.

  8. Enter comments explaining the review outcome.

  9. Select Next and verify the information.

  10. Select Submit to route the review for approval.

Acknowledge the Employee Discussion

  1. After meeting with the employee, open your Workday Inbox.

  2. Select Manager Evaluation from the Actions tab.

  3. Select edit in the Manager Acknowledge section.

  4. Select Acknowledge Review – Provide Date of Employee Discussion.

  5. Enter the discussion date and meeting notes in the Comment field.

  6. Select the check icon to save.

  7. Select Submit.

Outcome

The 30‑60‑90 Performance or Attendance Improvement Plan review is completed, documented, and routed appropriately in Workday.
