Objective or Task

Start and complete a probation performance review or disciplinary action in Workday.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the employee’s worker profile in Workday.

  2. Select the Related Actions button.

  3. Select Job Change.

  4. Select Manage Probation Periods.

  5. Select Edit to update the Probation End Date if the probation period needs to end early.

  6. Select Start Review to begin a probation performance review.

  7. On the Review Probation Period screen, select OK to confirm.

  8. Open your Workday Inbox.

  9. Locate the Start Probation Performance Review and/or Disciplinary Action To Do.

  10. Leave the To Do open and do not submit it yet.

  11. In the Workday search bar, enter Start Disciplinary Action for Employee if a disciplinary action is required.

  12. Complete the disciplinary action using the following required values: a. Employee
    b. Review Template
    c. Disciplinary Action Reasons
    d. Period Start Date
    e. Period End Date

  13. Return to your Workday Inbox.

  14. Submit the Start Probation Performance Review and/or Disciplinary Action To Do.

  15. Open the Submit Probation Period Review inbox item.

  16. Select a value for Probation Outcome: a. Satisfactory to end the probation period.
    b. Unsatisfactory – Involuntary Termination to start the termination process.
    c. Unsatisfactory – Resign in Lieu of Termination to start the resignation process.

  17. Select Submit to complete the process.

Outcome

The probation performance review or disciplinary action is completed and the probation outcome is recorded in Workday.
