Before You Begin
All university students and employees receive Blackboard accounts by default.
Sponsored accounts
do not
receive Blackboard accounts by default and must request access.
The owner of the sponsored account (i.e., the University employee responsible for the management of the sponsored user and account) must request Blackboard access on behalf of the sponsored user. Sponsored users cannot request Blackboard themselves.
You must be the owner of the sponsored account to request Blackboard for the sponsored user

Please have your UofL login credentials handy.
Instructions
Go to
Password and Account Management
.
Enter your
UofL login credentials
.
Click
SIGN IN
.
Click the
REQUEST HUB
tab.
Select
REQUESTS
tab.
Search for the sponsored user by first name, last name, or user ID. The sponsored account you manage will appear.
Select
Blackboard
and click
NEXT
.
Select
PERMANENT
.
Enter a comment in the comment box (required). Entering “Requesting Blackboard” is sufficient.
Click the
SUBMIT
button.
Look for a pop-up confirming your submission.
