Workday: How to View and Understand Your Payslip

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to Workday.
  • You must be an active or former employee with payroll history.

Objective or Task

You will view your payslip in Workday and review the key sections of your pay information.


Instructions

Access your payslips

  1. Open Workday.
  2. Open the Benefits and Pay application from the landing page.
  3. Select View Most Recent Pay to see your latest payslip.

OR

  1. Open the navigation pane.
  2. Select Pay.
  3. Select Payments to view all available payslips.

View or print a payslip

  1. Select View next to a payslip to open it in Workday.
  2. Select Print to generate a PDF of the payslip.

Print multiple payslips

  1. Open any payslip using View.
  2. Select Print Multiple Payslips.
  3. Select a payment date range.
  4. Choose whether to exclude net‑zero payslips.
  5. Click OK.

The PDF is available in your notifications after processing completes.


Review payslip information

  1. Review the Payslip Information section for pay period dates and check details.
  2. Review Current and Year‑to‑Date Totals for gross pay, deductions, taxes, and net pay.
  3. Review Earnings for pay types and amounts.
  4. Review Employee Taxes for federal, state, and local taxes.
  5. Review Pre‑Tax Deductions for benefit deductions taken before taxes.
  6. Review Employer Paid Benefits to see employer‑provided benefit totals.
  7. Review Taxable Wages to understand how taxes were calculated.
  8. Review Withholding for filing status and allowances.
  9. Review Absence Plans for accrued and available leave balances.
  10. Review Payment Information to confirm bank accounts and deposit amounts.

Outcome

You can access your current and past payslips in Workday and understand how your pay, deductions, taxes, and deposits are calculated.
