Wireless Configuration Guide: How to Connect to UofL Wi-Fi

Before You Begin

Ensure you have a valid UofL user account and login credentials.
Identify your device type (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Chromebook, Linux).
Review UofL wireless policies and preferred connection methods.

Objective or Task

Learn how to configure your device for secure wireless access using eduroam and SecureW2 at UofL.

Instructions

Automated Configuration

  • Open a web browser on your device and go to the UofL SecureW2 onboarding tool.
  • Select your operating system and follow the prompts to install the security certificate.
  • Enter your UofL credentials when prompted.
  • Once installed, you will connect to eduroam automatically and will not need to re-enter your password when it changes.
  • When the certificate expires, follow renewal instructions sent via email.

Troubleshooting and Special Cases

Guest and Sponsored Access

  • ULsponsor and ULvisitor networks are available for guests and short-term visitors.
  • Sponsored accounts require a UofL faculty or staff sponsor.

Outcome

After completing these steps, your device will be securely connected to UofL’s wireless network, with encrypted access and automatic credential management.
