Drupal DAM & Web Analytics: How to Manage Digital Assets and Analytics at UofL

Before You Begin

Ensure you have access or request access to your department’s Drupal site and the Digital Asset Manager (DAM) dashboard.
Review UofL branding and accessibility standards.

Objective or Task

Learn how to access and use UofL’s Drupal DAM for media management. Be able to integrate web analytics tools to monitor and improve website performance.

Instructions

Access the Drupal DAM

  • Go to the UofL DAM Dashboard.
  • Log in with your UofL credentials.
  • Browse or search for approved assets including logos, photos and documents.
  • Download or copy asset links for use in Drupal content.

Upload and Manage Assets

  • Departments may request upload access via the Office of Communications & Marketing.
  • Use metadata and categories to organize assets.
  • Follow naming conventions and copyright guidelines for all uploads.

Integrate Siteimprove for Web Analytics

  • Siteimprove is integrated with Drupal to monitor accessibility, broken links, SEO and content quality.
  • Use the Siteimprove CMS plugin to view page-level insights directly in the Drupal editor.
  • Review reports regularly to prioritize fixes and improve user experience.

Connect Google Analytics

  • UofL websites use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for traffic and behavior tracking.
  • Siteimprove can be connected to GA4 to combine visitor data with content insights.
  • To enable integration, go to Siteimprove > Settings > Content > Traffic Data Providers and connect your GA account.

Outcome

After completing these steps, you will be able to manage digital assets using the Drupal DAM and monitor your website’s performance using Siteimprove and Google Analytics.
