Before You Begin

  • You need an active UofL account and credentials.
  • Prepare a clear description of your project goals and requirements.
  • Gather any relevant content, data, or branding guidelines for your site.
  • Confirm your department’s approval for the project if required.

Objective or Task

Request a custom web design or application from the IDD team to support your university project or research.

Instructions

  1. Visit the Integrative Design & Development Page

  2. Review IDD Services

    • Explore examples of custom web designs, mobile apps, dashboards, and digital applications created by IDD.
    • Identify the type of solution you need (e.g., interactive website, database, dashboard, mobile app).
  3. Prepare Your Project Details

    • Write a summary of your project, including objectives, audience, and desired features.
    • List any technical requirements or integrations (e.g., data sources, user roles, security needs).
  4. Contact the IDD Team

    • Use the contact information or inquiry form on the IDD page to reach out.
    • Include your project summary, timeline, and any supporting documents.
    • Request a consultation or meeting to discuss your needs.
  5. Participate in the Design Process

    • Attend meetings with IDD to review prototypes and provide feedback.
    • Share content, images, and branding materials as requested.
    • Approve final designs before development begins.
  6. Follow Up and Launch

    • Test the completed web design or application with your team.
    • Report any issues or request adjustments as needed.
    • Coordinate with IDD for launch, training, and ongoing support.

Outcome

After completing these steps, you will have initiated a custom web design project with the IDD team. You’ll collaborate on design, development, and launch to ensure your site meets your goals and university standards.
