Objective or Task
Move a worker to a new supervisory organization in Workday.
Instructions

Confirm the move meets the following criteria:
- The worker is moving JM to JM or PM to PM supervisory organizations.
- The move does not involve a transfer to a new position.
- For moves involving 10 or more workers, use the bulk move process instead of this task.

From the Workday landing page, enter Start Job Change in the search bar and select the task.

Enter the Employee name.
- If the employee has multiple jobs, select the correct Job to move.

In What do you want to do?, select Move to New Manager/Supervisory Organization, then select OK.

On the Start Details page, enter:
- Effective Date for the move
- In Which team will this person be on after this change, enter the supervisor name and select the new supervisory organization
- Review that Who will be the manager after this change updates automatically

Select Start.
- Note that Manager, Team, and Campus cannot be changed once you leave this section.

Scroll to the Move section.

For What do you want to do with the opening left on your team?, select Move this headcount to the new manager.

Review the worker’s information for accuracy.

Select Submit to route the move for approval.
Outcome
The worker’s reporting assignment is updated in Workday, and the move is routed to the Budget Manager and Compensation team for review and approval.
