Objective or Task
Change a faculty member’s academic appointment track from Term to Tenured or Tenure Track in Workday.
Instructions

Confirm that the faculty member’s job change to a tenured or tenure‑track position has been fully completed in Workday.

Open the notification or task to add a new academic appointment for the faculty member.

Add a new academic appointment using the following values:
- Track Type set to Tenured or Tenure Track, as applicable
- Identifier set to Primary
- Ensure all other fields reflect the correct academic unit and position

Submit the new academic appointment and wait for all approvals to complete.

After the new academic appointment is approved, search for the faculty member and open the Worker Profile.

Select the Academic tab.

Open the Current Appointments section.

Review the list of appointments.
- You should see both the original Term appointment and the new Tenured/Tenure Track appointment.

Locate the original Term appointment and select End Track.

Enter the following for the term appointment:
- End Date set to one day prior to the effective date of the new tenured or tenure‑track appointment
- Reason set to End of Appointment

Submit the update.
Outcome
The faculty member’s academic appointment accurately reflects the correct Tenured or Tenure Track status, with the prior term appointment ended and only the current appointment remaining active in Workday.
