Objective or Task:

Request shared leave hours or donate shared leave hours in Workday.

Instructions:

Request Shared Leave

  1. Enter Create Request in the Workday search bar.
  2. Select Create Request from the results.
  3. Select Receive Shared Leave Hours as the Request Type.
  4. Select OK.
  5. Review the Shared Leave Program details.
  6. Describe the shared leave request.
  7. Answer whether shared leave was received in the past 12 months.
  8. Enter dates of any previously received shared leave if applicable.
  9. Enter a summary explaining why shared leave is needed.
  10. Enter today’s date as an electronic signature.
  11. Select Submit.

Donate Shared Leave

  1. Enter Create Request in the Workday search bar.
  2. Select Create Request from the results.
  3. Select Donate Shared Leave Hours as the Request Type.
  4. Select OK.
  5. Review the Shared Leave Program details.
  6. Describe the donation request.
  7. Select whether the donation goes to the general pool or a specific employee.
  8. Enter the number of Sick hours to donate if applicable.
  9. Enter the number of Vacation hours to donate if applicable.
  10. Select whether the donation should remain confidential.
  11. Enter today’s date as an electronic signature.
  12. Select Submit.

Outcome:

The shared leave request or donation is submitted in Workday and routed for review and approval.
