Learn how to find, run, filter, sort, and interact with reports in Workday.
Instructions
Access Reports in Workday

Click the Search bar at the top of Workday.

Type the report name.

Select the report from the search results.

Click View All Apps on the landing page.

Select an application that contains reports.

Choose a report from the available list.

Open a dashboard from an app or landing page.

Review reports displayed within the dashboard.

Open reports embedded in pages such as the Inbox or Worker Profile.
Use Report Prompts
- Review the prompt fields displayed before the report runs.
- Enter or select values for required prompts marked with a red asterisk.
- Select optional prompt values as needed.
- Select Include Subordinates if you need data from subordinate organizations.
- Enter a name in Manage Filters.
- Click Save to store the prompt values for future use.
Use Report Icons
- Click Export to Excel to download report data.
- Click Add to Worksheets to move data into Workday Worksheets.
- Click the Filter icon to apply column-level filters.
- Click Expand/Collapse Chart to change report views.
- Click View/Edit Grid Preferences to rearrange or remove columns.
- Click the Toggle icon to expand the report view on screen.
Sort Report Data
- Click a column header.
- Select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.
- Click the column header again.
- Select Remove Sort to clear sorting.
Filter Report Data

Click a column header.

Select Filter.

Choose a Filter Condition.

Enter or select a Value.

Click OK to apply the filter.

Click the Filter icon in the upper-right corner of the report table.

Click Add to create an additional filter.
Use Additional Actions
- Select a blue hyperlink value in a report.
- Review the related business object or sub-report.
- Click the Related Actions button.
- Select an available action from the vertical dots menu.
Outcome
You can successfully locate and run Workday reports, apply prompts, sort and filter data, and take additional actions directly from report results.
