Before You Begin
Ensure you have a valid UofL user account and login credentials.
Request a CardBox account via the Identity Management Portal or ULink.
Review UofL ITS policies for data security and collaboration.

Learn how to request, access, and use CardBox for secure file storage, sharing, and collaboration at UofL.
Instructions
Request CardBox Access
- Go to the Identity Management Portal or ULink.
- Sign in, select Requests > Request Access > CardBox, and follow the steps.
- You will receive an email once your account is set up (usually within a day).
Log In and Set Up CardBox
- Log in at louisville.box.com with your UofL credentials.
- Download and install the Box Drive client for desktop access if needed.
Create and Manage Folders
- Click the New button and select Folder to create a new folder.
- Enter a folder name and invite collaborators by entering their email addresses.
- To create subfolders, open the top-level folder and repeat the steps above.
Upload and Share Files
- Use the Upload button to add files or folders from your computer.
- Share files with anyone (even outside UofL) via secure links or shared folders.
- Collaborators receive automatic updates when files are edited or added.
Sync and Backup Files
- Use Box Sync or Box Drive to synchronize and backup desktop files.
- Access and share files from any device, including mobile and online Office365.
Collaborate and Edit
- Add comments, create tasks, and manage file versions within shared folders.
- Use Box’s intuitive dashboard to search, organize and manage your content.
Outcome
After completing these steps, you will be able to securely store, share and collaborate on files using CardBox, with unlimited storage and integration with UofL systems.
