Summary
What is Onbase?
Onbase is an application from Hyland software that is used to store and retrieve scanned and electronic documents (pdfs, images, Word docs, spreadsheets, etc). It also has a sophisticated Workflow module for routing documents to users to complete tasks on that document such as data entry and approvals.
Before You Begin
- You must have an OnBase account. Request access from your supervisor or authorized department contact.
- Log in to your PC with your AD (domain/Windows) account.
- Use Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer 11 for installation and access.
- (Unity Client Only) Add
https://onbase.louisville.edu to your browser’s trusted sites.

Web Version
- Go the the Onbase Application
- Log in to OnBase using your AD credentials.
- Upload documents using the Onbase interface
- Search and retrieve documents by entering keywords or using filters.
- Contact the ECM Team for advanced requests (workflows, dashboards, edits).
Client version
- If off-campus, you will need to be on the VPN
- Log in to OnBase using your AD credentials.
