Objective or Task
Update one or more service dates for an employee in Workday.
Instructions

From the Workday landing page, enter the employee name in the search bar and select the employee to open the Worker Profile.

From the Worker Profile, select Actions, then select Worker History, and select Edit Service Dates.

On the Edit Service Dates page, review and update the applicable service dates:
- Original Hire Date for the employee’s first date of employment
- Continuous Service Date for service length used in benefits and retirement calculations
- Benefits Service Date only when overriding the standard one‑year service requirement
- Retirement Eligibility Date for phased retirement overrides
- Retirement Date for employees terminated with a retirement reason

Use the calendar selector or enter the new date manually for each field being updated.

Enter any Comments and attach supporting documentation, if required.

Select Submit to save the service date changes.
Outcome
The employee’s service dates are updated in Workday and will be used for benefit eligibility, retirement processing, and service‑related calculations.
