Job Change - Update Location and Workspace

This article explains how HR Initiators and HR Partners can use the Job Change process in Workday to update an employee’s work location and workspace when their physical or remote work location changes.

Objective or Task

Update an employee’s location and workspace in Workday.


Instructions

  1. From the Workday landing page, enter Start Job Change in the search bar and select the task.

  2. On the Start Job Change page, enter the employee name and confirm the job information is correct.

  3. In What do you want to do?, select Data Change: Location Change, then select OK.

  4. Open the Start Details section and update Where will this person be located after this change? with the employee’s new location.

  5. Update the effective date, if needed.

  6. Select Start to begin the job change.

  7. Open Location Details and enter the employee’s Work Space.

  8. Do not make any changes to Scheduled Weekly Hours.

  9. Update Costing information, if applicable.

  10. Add Attachments or Comments, if needed.

  11. Select Submit to route the change for approval.


Outcome

The employee’s location and workspace are updated in Workday and routed through the appropriate approval process.
