Instructions

Identify the Legacy Compensation Method

  1. Identify the legacy form, code, or method previously used to pay the employee.
  2. Locate the legacy item in the If you used to use… column of the Compensation Crosswalk Guide.

Determine the Correct Workday Action

  1. Review the corresponding Now use… column.
  2. Identify whether the action is Request Compensation Change or Request One Time Payment.

Confirm the Compensation Plan Type

  1. Review the Workday Plan Type associated with the item.
    • Allowance Plan
    • One Time Payment Plan
  2. Confirm whether the payment is recurring or non‑recurring.

Verify Employee Eligibility

  1. Review the Eligibility in Workday column.
  2. Confirm the employee’s job family, job profile, and employment status match the eligibility requirements.
  3. Confirm whether the plan is eligible for retirement contributions.

Enter the Compensation in Workday

  1. Initiate the appropriate Workday task based on the crosswalk mapping.
  2. Select the correct compensation plan identified in the guide.
  3. Enter the required amount or percentage.
  4. Add an Actual End Date when required to stop recurring payments.
  5. Submit the request for approval.

Validate the Outcome

  1. Review the compensation change or one‑time payment after approval.
  2. Confirm the payment reflects correctly in Workday and payroll.

Outcome

Compensation is entered correctly in Workday using the appropriate plan type, and legacy payroll methods are successfully converted to Workday processes.
