UL2FCTR/Duo: How to Reactivate Duo on a New Phone With the Same Number

Before You Begin
- You must have an UofL login credentials.
- You must still have access to your phone number.
- You must be able to receive a phone call for verification.
- You must have a smartphone that supports Duo Mobile.
Instructions
Using the UL2FCTR Site (preferred method)
Part 1: Reinstall Duo Mobile
- Install the Duo Mobile app on your new phone.
- Allow the app to use the camera when prompted.
Part 2: Verify Your Identity
- Open a web browser.
- Go to the UofL two‑factor authentication page.
- Sign in using your UofL credentials.
- Select Call Me.
- Answer the phone call.
- Press any key on the keypad when prompted.
Part 3: Reactivate Duo Mobile
- Select Device Options.
- Select Reactivate Duo Mobile.
- Choose your phone type.
- Open the Duo Mobile app on your phone.
- Follow the on‑screen prompts in the app.
- Select Take me to the app if prompted.
- Complete the activation process.
- Select Always send this device a push.
- Save your changes.
Using the Identity and Access Management Portal
- Go to Password and Account Management.
- Enter your UofL login credentials.
- Click SIGN IN.
- Click the MY SECURITY tab.
- Select your old device, and REMOVE the device.
- Click ADD A DEVICE.
- Complete the Duo device registration by entering the appropriate information.
- Select the type of device you want to add (e.g., mobile phone, tablet, or Yubikey)
- Enter the name of your device (e.g., “My iPhone”)
- Enter your phone number.
- Click CONFIRM.
- Click SUBMIT.
- Choose a verification method:
- Download the free Duo Mobile app from your preferred app store.
- Send a secure link to your phone.
