Overview

The University of Louisville utilizes Microsoft 365 and its suite of products for various applications. Microsoft 365 provides streamlined tools that provide integration, collaboration, efficiency, and more.

Microsoft 365 is available to all UofL students, faculty, and staff at no additional cost. With Microsoft 365, you can access the full suite of Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more. You can access these applications either online or through downloadable desktop versions. The platform also includes Outlook for email, OneDrive and SharePoint for collaboration, and Microsoft Teams for messaging and virtual meetings.

How Can I Access Microsoft 365?

You can access Microsoft applications either online or through downloadable desktop versions. You can download Microsoft Office products on up to 5 devices for enrolled students and employees.

How to Access Microsoft 365:

Microsoft Online

  1. Go to https://www.office.com in a web browser.
  2. Click Sign in.
  3. Enter your UofL email address (userID@louisville.edu).
  4. Click Next.
  5. Enter your password.
  6. Click Sign in.
  7. On the bottom left corner of the screen, click Apps.
  8. Select the application you want to use (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Desktop Applications

NOTE: You can install Office on up to 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets, and 5 smartphones.

  1. Go to https://www.office.com in a web browser.
  2. Click Sign in.
  3. Enter your UofL email address (userID@louisville.edu).
  4. Click Next.
  5. Enter your password.
  6. Click Sign in.
  7. On the bottom left corner of the screen, click Apps​​​​​​​.
  8. In the top right hand corner of the screen, click Install apps.
  9. In the dropdown menu that appears, select Microsoft 365 apps​​​​​​​. A new window will appear.
  10. In the new window, under "Office apps & devices", click Install Office. A file named "OfficeSetup.exe" will be downloaded to your device.
  11. Click on OfficeSetup.exe​​​​​​​ to run the Microsoft Office Installer, and follow the directions to install Microsoft 365 applications on your device.
