Before You Begin

  • Visitors and guests to the University can use the ULsponsor network for longer-term, sponsored access.
  • Sponsorship by a university faculty or administrative staff member is required for access to the ULsponsor network.

Objective or Task

Connect to University wireless using the ULsponsor network.

Instructions

  1. Obtain a sponsored guest account from your UofL sponsor (faculty or administrative staff).
  2. On your device, select ULsponsor from the list of available wireless networks.
  3. Open a web browser and go to any website. You will be redirected to the UofL guest login page.
    • If your browser home page is set to a secure (https://) site, you may not be redirected to the login page. Change your home page to a non-secure site or visit http://neverssl.com to trigger the login page.
  4. Log in with your sponsored guest username and password.
  5. After logging in, you can use Internet services and web browsing as you would at a public venue.

Outcome

Visitors and guests will be able to access the UofL wireless network using ULsponsor for extended, sponsored access.

    • Friday: 6:00am – 5:00pm
    • Saturday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

    • Closed on Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
    • If you have an emergency during off hours, call the HelpDesk to be transferred to an on-call technician, or leave your request on voicemail. Your call will be returned the next day starting at 7am unless you specify a time.

  • In-Person Support: Visit the iTechConnect 1:1 help located on the lower level of the Miller Information Technology Center, Belknap Campus, during business hours.
