Summary
Request a CardBox account through the Identity Access Management portal to store and share files securely. This process is for university students, faculty and staff who need access to CardBox for academic or business purposes.

Before You Begin
- Service accounts and sponsored accounts are not eligible for Cardbox accounts.
- Departmental Cardbox accounts are available for department-wide use and collaboration.
Objective or Task
Request a CardBox account using the Identity Management self-service portal.
Instructions
- Go to https://identity.louisville.edu.
- Enter your user ID and click NEXT.
- Enter your password and click NEXT.
- Click the REQUESTS tab.
- Select REQUEST ACCESS in the new tab.
- Under Step 1, check the Include Self box. Your last name, first name, and user ID will appear.
- Under Step 2, select Accounts from the Access Catalog dropdown menu.
- Select CardBox and click DONE.
- Under Step 3, select PERMANENT.
- On Step 4, enter a comment in the comment box (required). Entering “Requesting CardBox” is sufficient.
- Click the SUBMIT REQUEST button.
- Look for a pop-up confirming your request was submitted.
Outcome
After your request is processed, you will receive an email invitation to your university email. Follow the prompts in the email to activate your CardBox account.

- If you have an emergency during off hours, call the HelpDesk to be transferred to an on-call technician, or leave your request on voicemail. Your call will be returned the next day starting at 7am unless you specify a time.

- Submit a Ticket: Use the self-service portal at http://service.louisville.edu to log requests or check the status of existing tickets.
