Objective or Task
Learn how to recycle, decommission and track devices at UofL.
Instructions
Request Disposal or Recycling
- Contact Inventory Control or Surplus Property for disposal requests.
- Follow procedures for data sanitization and asset tracking.
Complete Decommissioning
- Remove devices from inventory and ensure proper data destruction.
- Use approved recycling channels for e-waste and surplus equipment.
Track and Report Disposal
- Maintain records of disposed assets for audit and compliance.
Outcome
After completing these steps, devices will be securely decommissioned, recycled and tracked according to university policy.
