Accounts: How to Claim Your Account

You can claim your University of Louisville account online to access campus systems like ULink and email. This guide is for students, employees and sponsored users who need to set up their university account for the first time. Follow these steps to get started.

Before You Begin:

  • Have your personal information ready (first name, last name, birth date and University ID number if applicable).
  • After you claim your account, you university account password must meet password requirements listed in the university’s password policy (ISO-008 v2.2).
  • You will need a personal email or mobile number for account recovery.

Claim your University of Louisville account to access university systems.

Instructions

For Students and Employees

  1. Go to https://identity.louisville.edu/AccountClaim.
  2. Enter your first name, last name, birth date, and University student/employee ID number. Add your personal email if available.
  3. Select I’m not a robot and complete the reCAPTCHA.
  4. Review the terms of use and click ACCEPT.
  5. View your User ID and write it down.
  6. Set up your recovery information (email and/or mobile number). You may skip this step, but it is highly recommended.
  7. Enter the PIN sent to your recovery email or mobile number to verify recovery information if applicable.
  8. Create and confirm your account password. Follow all password criteria listed on the right side of the screen.
  9. After setting your password, you’ll see a confirmation message and be redirected to a new webpage.
  10. Check your email for confirmation that your account has been successfully claimed.

For Sponsored Users

  1. Go to https://identity.louisville.edu/SponsoredAccountClaim.
  2. Enter your first name, last name, and birth date.
  3. Complete the reCAPTCHA.
  4. Review the terms of use and click ACCEPT.
  5. View your User ID and write it down.
  6. Set up your recovery information (email and/or mobile number). You may skip this step, but it is highly recommended.
  7. Enter the PIN sent to your recovery email or mobile number to verify recovery information if applicable.
  8. Create and confirm your account password. Follow all password criteria listed on the right side of the screen.
  9. After setting your password, you’ll see a confirmation message and be redirected to a new webpage.

Outcome

Your University of Louisville account will be claimed and you’ll receive your User ID and confirmation email. You can now log in to campus systems.
