UL2FCTR Duo: How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication

Before You Begin

  • Make sure you have your UofL userID and password.
  • Prepare a smartphone, tablet or phone for Duo authentication.
  • Update your operating system and browser to the latest version.

Objective or Task

You will enroll in UL2FCTR Duo and set up your preferred two-factor authentication method to secure your UofL accounts.

Instructions

  1. Go to the UL2FCTR Enrollment Portal
  2. Log in with your UofL userID and password.
  3. Follow the prompts to begin Duo enrollment.
  4. Choose your authentication method:
    • Download the free Duo Mobile app from your preferred app store.
    • Set up SMS text message verification.
    • Provide a phone number for confirmation calls.
  5. Verify your device by responding to a Duo push, SMS or call.
  6. Set up at least one backup authentication method (highly recommended).
  7. Complete enrollment and test your authentication method.
  8. Use UL2FCTR Duo for logging into ULink, WorkdayHR, Blackboard, VPN, and other university systems.

Outcome

After completing these steps, your UofL account will be protected by two-factor authentication. You will receive alerts if someone tries to access your account, and you will need to verify your identity for secure logins.
